I’m just your average, run-of-the-mill grammatical pedant. Sadly, average, run-of-the-mill grammatical pedants are a much-persecuted bunch, sentenced to live in a world where their values are not taught in schools, and are mocked by every pen-wielding fool without a dictionary.
